Water Pollution Update:

Brian Flynn with Carroll County Water Control says preliminary testing has found a kerosene product in one of the monitoring wells at the Jiffy Mart on Suffolk Road.  But the investigation into the cause of the pollution continues.  As of now 11 wells have been tested on Suffolk and Clydesdale roads but only six samples have come back so far.  Five of those six tests have come back with no petroleum products in their water.  One property tested 2.1 parts per billion of MTBE.  Overall six or seven properties have tested and found to have MTBE in their water but only three homes have required filtration.  Flynn says more samplings will be done this month, if other test results come in showing petroleum products in the well water.

If you want your water tested by someone other than the county, Fountain Valley Analytical Laboratory in Westminster is offering a special rate for Finksburg residents.  Call 410-848-1014.

Trash Pickup:

On a rainy and cold Saturday, April 5th, 10 people spent two hours picking up trash along Route 91.  The dedicated FPAC members picked up 17 bags of trash including one tire.  Thanks to all who came out to make  Finksburg that much more beautiful.
